Ultrafuse PP GF30 is a highly technical composite material. Based on PP (Polypropylene) and reinforced with 30% glass fiber, it is suitable for the most demanding applications.
Characterized by excellent chemical and UV resistance, this filament is particularly well suited to the automotive industry. The properties of PP are significantly enhanced by the addition of glass fiber. Lightweight and low moisture absorption, it is also highly heat resistant.
These many advantages make Ultrafuse PP GF30 an excellent choice for tooling, wear parts, or functional components.
Mechanical performance: BASF’s composite PP GF30 filament is extremely strong and durable. It combines the flexibility and toughness of PP with enhanced strength thanks to the added glass fiber, specially developed for 3D printing filaments to ensure high extrusion quality and performance.
Chemical resistance: Polypropylene (PP), the base material of this composite GF30 filament, offers excellent versatility in terms of chemical resistance.
Thermal resistance: This technical 3D printing material offers excellent thermal properties. With a heat deflection temperature (0.45 MPa) of 127°C, it withstands high thermal stresses effectively.
Printing with PP GF30 filament requires advanced expertise in additive manufacturing and demands special attention. In terms of bed adhesion, this PP filament is known for its high sensitivity to warping on “thick” parts.
It is recommended to produce thin shells rather than solid objects. In all cases, the use of a dedicated adhesive solution is necessary. The adhesive Magigoo PP GF30, for example, is perfectly suited to this purpose. Other specific coatings are also available to address this issue.
Another key consideration is the high abrasion caused by this filament on most extrusion systems. The high glass fiber content of this PP GF30 requires the use of a reinforced nozzle with a minimum diameter of 0.5 mm.
