The BASF Ultrafuse PA6 GF30 is a Nylon filament reinforced with glass fibers, developed to meet the requirements of industrial environments. The base polymer, PA6, is recognized for its strength and wear resistance. The addition of 30% glass fibers significantly improves rigidity and dimensional stability, while reducing deformation during cooling. This material is used for the production of functional components, robust tools, or technical replacement parts.
Its printing behavior remains stable, but it requires precise adjustments to take advantage of its optimal mechanical properties. The filament is compatible with most 3D printers equipped with a heated bed and a hardened nozzle.
Thanks to its glass fiber load, the PA6 GF30 has superior mechanical resistance compared to standard Nylon. Its internal structure allows it to withstand high stresses without significant deformation. Printed parts maintain their shape and performance even under prolonged load conditions. This level of rigidity makes it a preferred material for structural elements, mechanical supports, or fastening parts subjected to significant efforts. Its slightly matte texture also enhances the professional appearance of finished parts.
The PA6 GF30 maintains its properties up to 150 °C continuously, with minimal deformation. This thermal stability allows its use in high heat environments, such as engine compartments, production tools, or jigs subjected to friction. The combination of polyamide and glass fibers limits thermal creep and improves long-term resistance. The material also resists many chemical agents, further expanding its industrial application field.
The presence of glass fibers ensures excellent dimensional stability, reducing shrinkage and warping phenomena commonly observed in pure polyamides. The parts obtained have constant precision, even for large volumes. This characteristic makes the PA6 GF30 from Forward AM particularly suitable for the manufacture of mechanical assemblies requiring precise adjustment or for the mass production of functional prototypes. The material's durability over time guarantees stable performance, even in humid environments.
For optimal results, it is recommended to print the BASF Ultrafuse PA6 GF30 in a closed and heated enclosure to limit shrinkage.
Minimal ventilation is advised to maximize inter-layer adhesion. The use of a specific adhesive for polyamides can also improve grip on the bed.
