The BASF resins are photosensitive resins developed for 3D printers of the DLP/LCD, MSLA resin type.
The RG series is the most rigid and hard resin range, suitable for the most demanding applications requiring high rigidity without deformation.
RG resins have the highest flexural modulus of our Ultracur3D range and the highest thermal stability. They are specifically developed to provide tensile strength and first-class rigidity, as well as high printing accuracy with low shrinkage. Prints made with RG resin have low water absorption and are easy to polish, which accelerates design iterations and reduces development costs.
High rigidity: The BASF RG 1100 B resin is the stiffest, offering an excellent balance between strength and rigidity. Flexural modulus of 2790 MPa and strength of 125 MPa. This RG110B photoreactive resin also provides excellent stability due to low shrinkage, delivering unique performance for all kinds of prototyping applications and functional parts for your most technical applications.
Temperature resistance: Ultracur3D RG1100B urethane resins are the most heat-resistant. They have a heat deflection temperature (0.45 MPa) reaching 100°C.
Water resistance (cleaning): RG1100B resins are minimally sensitive to water (0.42% absorption in 24h), making them suitable for applications in humid environments without loss of performance or dimensional accuracy. Another advantage of this low water sensitivity is the possibility of using water to clean your parts.
Ultracur3D resins are photoreactive and therefore highly light-sensitive. They must be protected from UV as soon as they are opened. Store them away from light. It is also recommended to wear gloves when handling the resin.
Shake your resin bottle before use and let it rest a few minutes after filling the printing vat to allow air bubbles to disappear. To determine the appropriate exposure parameters for your 3D printer, feel free to consult our dedicated community articles.
After cleaning with alcohol using BASF Cleaner and a few minutes of drying, remember to complete the post-processing by passing the parts through a UV chamber to achieve the stated performance (about 20 minutes depending on size and thickness).
