The SprintRay SportsGuard Crimson Red 500 g resin is designed for the digital production of custom sports mouthguards. It enables dental professionals to manufacture personalized devices directly in the practice, with a patient-specific fit and optimized design through the SprintRay digital workflow.

Its high-performance formulation combines flexibility, tear resistance and impact absorption properties. The Crimson Red color allows the appearance of the mouthguard to be customized. SportsGuard is designed for the 385 nm UV-A technology of the SprintRay Pro 2 and is used with NanoCure for curing.

Key features of SprintRay SportsGuard Resin

Impact protection: SportsGuard provides an impact absorption rate of 75% according to the ADA 99 method at 37 °C. This property enables the material to absorb part of the energy generated during an impact. The resin is therefore designed for manufacturing custom sports mouthguards intended to protect teeth during sports or recreational activities.

Strength and flexibility: The SportsGuard formulation combines several mechanical properties suitable for manufacturing sports mouthguards. It features a Shore A hardness of 91 and a tear resistance of 266 N/cm according to ASTM D642 at 37 °C. Its rebound reaches 10 N-cm according to ADA 99, contributing to the mechanical performance of the device.

Water absorption: SportsGuard has a water absorption of 0.4% by weight according to the ASTM D570 method, after immersion for 3 hours at 37 °C. This low absorption limits the amount of water that can be absorbed by the material and helps maintain its properties during use.

Tips for using SprintRay SportsGuard Resin

The SprintRay SportsGuard Crimson Red resin is exclusively compatible with the SprintRay Pro 2 and NanoCure curing unit. It is formulated for 385 nm UV-A exposure. To achieve the expected properties, follow the SprintRay workflow, including design, preparation, printing, cleaning and curing.

After printing, the recommended workflow includes a 11-minute cleaning cycle with Pro Wash S, followed by 21 minutes of curing in NanoCure. The parameters and procedures recommended by SprintRay should be followed to ensure the material's performance and the conformity of the manufactured device.
