Resins 3D for dental 3D printing
The dental sector and the use of 3D printing, whether in prosthetic laboratories, dental and orthodontic offices, has experienced a rapid rise.
Dental resins are photosensitive resins designed to reliably and affordably print models, dies, crowns, and surgical guides.
Used on LCD/DLP printers as well as SLA, these resins are photosensitive at wavelengths between 220 and 415nm.
The three most common applications in prosthetic laboratories are the printing of dental crowns and bridges. For LCD printer users, the Forshape Model resin is ideal with precision of more than +50μm.
Regarding use in a dental office, printing surgical guides directly from the office is an increasingly common practice. For this type of medical device, the resin must be biocompatible to ensure safe oral use.
Finally, in orthodontics, the use of transparent aligners/trays as a complementary or complete substitute for brackets has opened the door to printing models that will then serve as a base for thermoforming.
The Forshape Ortho resin is ideal for mass production of orthodontic models with a precision of at least +100μm.
