Creality Sermoon P1S: a standalone and versatile 3D scanner
The Creality Sermoon P1S is an all-in-one 3D scanner designed for on-site scanning without systematically relying on a computer. Its 6-inch HD touchscreen, Qualcomm processor and onboard processing functions allow data to be captured and processed directly on the scanner.
It combines blue laser and infrared structured light to adapt to different types of parts and surfaces. With its 34 crossed laser lines, 7 parallel lines and NIR mode, the Sermoon P1S covers both fast capture of large areas and the reproduction of finer details. Its three operating modes provide flexibility between standalone use, wired PC connection and wireless connection.

Creality Sermoon P1S and CrealityScan: a complete environment
The Creality Sermoon P1S uses CrealityScan to work with scanned data on a computer. The software supports several export formats, including ASC, OBJ, PLY, 3MF and STL, making it easier to integrate scans into different design, reverse engineering and manufacturing workflows.
The data can be used with QuickSurface, Geomagic Design X, as well as UG and Catia. CrealityScan also includes measurement, fusion, editing, alignment, meshing and color mapping functions to prepare and process data directly within the software environment.
For reverse engineering applications, models can be exported to specialist software for further processing. For 3D printing, a watertight STL can be exported from CrealityScan and then imported into slicing software. Connecting the scanner to a PC also provides higher capture frame rates than standalone operation.
Our opinion on the Creality Sermoon P1S
The Creality Sermoon P1S stands out above all for its all-in-one approach. For a 3D scanner used directly on site, the ability to capture and process data without a computer provides genuine flexibility. The different capture technologies also complement each other well: the 34 crossed laser lines favor surface coverage, the 7 parallel lines capture finer details, while NIR provides an alternative method for certain small to medium-sized objects.
Another interesting feature is that the Sermoon P1S can switch to a wired or wireless PC workflow when greater processing or capture capabilities are required. The USB connection also enables marker-free blue laser scanning. With a scanning range from 5 × 5 × 5 mm to 4000 × 4000 × 4000 mm, advertised laser accuracy of up to 0.02 mm and volumetric accuracy of up to 0.02 mm + 0.08 mm/m, it covers a wide range of design and reverse engineering projects.
