The eSun PLA‑LW White - 1.75mm - 1Kg uses active foaming technology that increases the volume during printing, reaching a foaming ratio of up to 220% and a final density as low as 0.54 g/cm³. This means a single spool can produce much lighter parts than standard PLA while maintaining a matte surface and well-defined details.
The foam formed during printing makes layer lines almost invisible and provides a delicate, uniform finish. Under the same model and speed conditions, PLA‑LW reduces the surface load of parts such as model aircraft wings, contributing to overall better performance.

Low density and lightweight: thanks to active foaming technology, this filament produces parts much lighter than standard PLA, with density as low as 0.54 g/cm³, ideal for modeling and large prints.
Delicate matte surface: the foam reduces the visibility of layer lines and provides a uniform, fine finish on printed parts.
Stable layer adhesion: despite its foamed structure, PLA‑LW maintains good cohesion between layers, allowing large models to be printed without significant deformation.
For best results with the eSun PLA‑LW White - 1.75mm - 1Kg, it is recommended to set a nozzle temperature between 190 and 270 °C. The filament usually starts foaming around 210 °C, but the full range allows adjustments to suit your needs.
A heated bed set between 45 and 60 °C improves first-layer adhesion. As the foam is generated continuously in the nozzle, standard retraction does not work and may cause stringing. It is often recommended to disable retraction or use vase mode to reduce unwanted strings.
For lighter and bulkier parts, reducing extrusion to around 45% can help achieve the desired foam volume while maintaining good adhesion and surface quality.
Finally, store the filament in a dry environment to preserve its properties and facilitate long-term printing.
