Using PolyTerra Dual Gradient Wood (Wood)

The eco-friendly PLA filament PolyTerra Dual Gradient Wood (Wood) was developed by Polymaker using a technique called "Fully Bio Compound (FBC)", which combines PLA (a biodegradable polymer made from corn starch, beetroot, and wheat) with organic minerals.

If you are looking for an affordable or eco-friendly PLA filament — or both — PolyTerra ™ PLA is definitely your first choice. Moreover, when used as a support material, PolyTerra ™ PLA can be easily removed.

PolyTerra filament is suitable for simple prototyping as well as finished decorative or accessory parts.

Our recommendations for using PolyTerra

PolyTerra Dual Gradient Wood (Wood) is compatible with all open 3D printers on the market in both 1.75mm and 2.85mm.

We recommend setting your printer to an extrusion temperature between 190 and 230°C. A print speed of 30 to 70mm/s and a heated bed between 25 and 60°C are also recommended.

If your printer is equipped with a direct drive extrusion system, the recommended retraction distance is 1mm at 20mm/s. For Bowden extrusion systems, the recommended retraction distance is 3mm at 40mm/s.

Finally, regarding food contact compliance, while PolyTerra Dual Gradient Wood (Wood) meets the main standards, some printed parts may have invisible cracks or holes where bacteria can proliferate.
