The eco-friendly PLA filament PolyTerra Fossil Grey was developed by Polymaker using a technique called "Fully Bio Compound (FBC)", which combines PLA (a biodegradable polymer made from corn starch, beet, and wheat) with organic minerals.
If you're looking for a cost-effective or eco-friendly PLA filament — or both — PolyTerra™ PLA is definitely your top choice. Moreover, if used as a support material, PolyTerra™ PLA can be easily removed.

PolyTerra Fossil Grey is compatible with all open 3D printers on the market in both 1.75 and 2.85 mm formats.
We recommend setting your printer to an extrusion temperature between 190 and 230°C to print PolyTerra Fossil Grey under optimal conditions. A print speed between 30 and 70 mm/s and a heated bed between 25 and 60°C are also advised.
If your printer uses a direct drive system, the recommended retraction distance is 1 mm at 20 mm/s. For Bowden systems, we recommend 3 mm at 40 mm/s.
Finally, regarding food safety: while PolyTerra Fossil Grey complies with major standards, some printed parts may contain microcracks and pores invisible to the naked eye. Bacteria can easily accumulate in these areas.
