Polypropylene is a semi-flexible material that is highly resistant to fatigue and impact, enabling the production of hinges or parts subject to repeated stress. Reinforced with carbon fibre, the PP filament becomes rigid and UV-resistant. Unaffected by humidity, it is perfectly suited to outdoor applications, or to the production of resistant parts for industry.
Polypropylene softens very gradually with temperature. The addition of carbon fibres limits this phenomenon, making Nanovia PP CF suitable for components requiring dimensional control in hot, humid environments.
The Nanovia PP CF filament has an extrusion temperature ideally between 235 and 255°. A heating plate at 80°C to 100°C is recommended. As this material is loaded with carbon fibre, we recommend that you use a reinforced nozzle when printing.
We recommend that you store your reel in a dry place with a desiccant. If it has been exposed to humidity or open air, please steam your filament at 60°C for 4 hours or more. Finally, the use of a printer with an air extraction or filtered enclosure is highly recommended.
