The PPA-CF from Bambu Lab is designed for applications requiring high mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and superior thermal resistance.
Thanks to its carbon fiber reinforcement, it is ideal for manufacturing functional parts subjected to high mechanical and thermal stress, such as industrial components, automotive parts, and sports equipment.
PPA-CF provides strength comparable to some metals; it is 48% stronger and 102% stiffer than PA6-CF.
Exceptional mechanical strength: The carbon fiber reinforcement gives the filament increased resistance to mechanical stress, making printed parts strong and durable.
Dimensional stability: PPA-CF offers excellent dimensional stability, minimizing the risk of warping or shrinkage after printing.
High thermal resistance: This filament withstands high temperatures (up to 227°C), making it ideal for demanding industrial and technical applications.
Compatible with humid environments: This material performs well in humid conditions and can be used to print parts intended for water use.
For optimal use of Bambu Lab's PPA-CF, it is recommended to set the extrusion temperature between 280 and 310°C and the bed temperature between 100 and 120°C. The maximum recommended speed is 100mm/s.
A wear-resistant nozzle, such as a hardened steel nozzle, is recommended due to the filament's abrasiveness. Additionally, it is essential to dry the filament before printing to prevent moisture absorption, which could affect print quality.
Finally, to improve bed adhesion and reduce the risk of warping, using an appropriate print surface or specific adhesive is recommended.
