The Makera Cyclone Dust Collector is developed for compact machining environments such as workshops or fablabs equipped with Makera Carvera / Carvera Air machines. It combines cyclonic separation technology with a multi-stage filtration system to efficiently remove chips and fine dust generated during milling, engraving, or cutting operations.

Technology and design of the Cyclone Dust Collector

The cyclonic separation principle diverts up to 97% of particles before they reach the filters. This pre-treatment significantly reduces clogging and extends the lifespan of the main filter. The filtration system includes a foam pre-filter, a high-efficiency HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter to capture ultrafine dust and neutralize odors.

The collector’s motor provides up to 12 kPa suction pressure and an airflow of about 900 L/min. The integrated 6L dust bin allows extended operation without interruption, while noise levels remain around 70 dB, ideal for use in shared spaces.

Compatibility and integration

The Cyclone Dust Collector connects directly to Makera CNC machines, but can also be used with other desktop CNC machines via a standard connection. Installation is simple: the hose attaches to the machine’s extraction port, and the unit starts automatically during machining operations, depending on the configuration.

Usage tips for the Makera Dust Collector

• Keep the hose as short and straight as possible to reduce pressure loss.
• Empty the bin regularly before reaching the 6L capacity.
• Clean or replace HEPA and activated carbon filters after about 30 hours of use, depending on the material machined.
• Use high suction flow when machining materials that produce fine dust (metals, composites).
