Revo Design Personal bridges the gap between 3D scanning and CAD modeling. The software allows you to work from STL, OBJ or PLY meshes generated from a 3D scan, then reconstruct geometries, create sketches and modify surfaces to produce a model suitable for 3D printing. Integration with Revopoint scanning software allows the mesh to be transferred with one click, so you can continue directly with the reverse engineering process.

This edition is designed for personal and non-commercial projects. It is suitable for makers, engineers, educators and users who want to use their 3D scans to restore a part, adapt an existing object or design a model for 3D printing. CAD export is limited to the STL format.

Reference Geometry Extraction

Surface and Freeform Geometry Creation

For less regular shapes, the software provides freeform modeling tools. Curves can be drawn directly on the mesh to create fill surfaces, blends or freeform shapes. It is also possible to create bounded surfaces from 3D sketches to progressively reconstruct the geometry of a scanned part.

2D and 3D Sketches

The sketching tools allow you to reconstruct geometries from the scanned model. 2D sketches support dimensions and constraints, while the 3D tools allow you to create reference curves directly on mesh surfaces. Interactive sectioning also makes it easier to extract reference points for positioning and aligning sketches.

STL Export for 3D Printing

Once the reconstruction process is complete, the CAD model can be exported in STL format. This format can then be integrated into a 3D printing workflow. Revo Design Personal is limited to this export format: STEP, IGES and Parasolid CAD formats, as well as commercial use, are reserved for Revo Design Pro.
