Ultimaker PLA Magenta

The Ultimaker PLA Magenta filament is a standard (polylactic acid) material widely used in 3D printing. It is suitable for many applications and will always have a place on your desk. It works well for printing parts that do not require high mechanical or thermal resistance and allows you to produce many parts quickly and easily, such as:

  • Manufacturing aids
  • Architectural models
  • Medical visualization aids
  • Molds for metal or ceramic parts
  • Concept models
  • Educational projects

Ultimaker PLA Magenta: Key Benefits

Easy to print: This PLA material prints very easily and achieves high success rates even at high printing speeds.

Excellent tensile stiffness: This rigid material deforms very little when stretched.

PVA / Breakaway compatible: This material is also compatible with PVA or Breakaway support filaments.

Our Recommendations for Ultimaker PLA Magenta

Ultimaker PLA prints at moderate temperatures, typically around 200 to 210°C, depending on the nozzle size and selected print profile. Profiles for 0.25 mm nozzles use slightly lower temperatures, while 0.8 mm profiles require higher temperatures.

For bed adhesion, a 60°C bed temperature is recommended, though PLA can also print on a cold bed using blue painter’s tape. PLA generally adheres well to a heated glass bed, but applying a thin layer of adhesive (such as Magigoo Original) is recommended to improve adhesion.

Ultimaker PLA Magenta has optimized settings for the Ultimaker S5, the Air Manager, and the Material Station. This ensures a smooth printing experience with the Material Station and a secure environment with the Air Manager.
