Polymaker Fiberon™ ASA-CF08 Black Filament - 1.75mm - 500g

The Polymaker Fiberon™ ASA-CF08 is a technical filament based on ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) enriched with 8% carbon fibers. This combination gives the material a significantly higher rigidity than a standard ASA, while improving its dimensional stability. Its resistance to outdoor conditions, particularly against UV and weather, makes it particularly suitable for demanding environments.

Its matte and homogeneous appearance provides a professional visual rendering, while its mechanical performance ensures reliable use for functional prototypes, automotive parts, industrial components, or even durable outdoor applications.

Benefits of Fiberon ASA-CF08

High mechanical rigidity: Thanks to the addition of carbon fibers, the Fiberon™ ASA-CF08 exhibits exceptional rigidity. The Young's modulus measured at over 3600 MPa illustrates the strength of this material, which allows for the creation of robust parts with minimal susceptibility to deformation. This characteristic is particularly sought after in the manufacturing of structural supports, fasteners, or mechanical parts that must withstand repeated stresses. The ASA + carbon fiber combination ensures a balance between lightness, durability, and mechanical robustness.

Precise dimensional stability: The presence of carbon fibers helps to reduce shrinkage and risks of deformation during printing. This dimensional stability guarantees better precision, even for large parts or those with complex geometries. Users can thus obtain components perfectly suited for technical assemblies or industrial projects where dimensional tolerance is critical. This reliability also reduces losses related to printing defects and improves repeatability.

Exceptional UV resistance: Unlike other thermoplastics sensitive to discoloration or aging under solar exposure, ASA is known for its stability against UV radiation. The ASA-CF08 not only maintains its deep matte black appearance, but also its mechanical properties after prolonged outdoor use. This makes it an ideal material for manufacturing parts intended for outdoor environments: automotive equipment, drone components, technical enclosures, or architectural elements.

Printing Tips for Polymaker Fiberon™ ASA-CF08

To fully utilize the potential of this filament, an extrusion temperature between 260 and 280 °C is recommended. The heated bed should be kept between 90 and 100 °C to ensure good first layer adhesion.
A 3D printer with a closed enclosure is highly recommended, as too rapid cooling of the ASA can cause internal tensions and lead to cracks in tall prints.

The use of a wear-resistant nozzle (hardened steel or ruby) is essential due to the abrasiveness of the carbon fibers. Finally, a limited or disabled airflow is preferable to ensure layer cohesion and reduce the risks of warping.
