The Polymaker PolyMax PLA 3D filament offers impressive mechanical properties for a PLA. Being very easy to print and providing up to 9 times higher strength than standard PLA, this filament opens PLA up to more functional applications.

Moreover, it is an excellent alternative to ABS as its 20% higher toughness makes it highly demanded. While limiting the odors released by ABS, this Black PLA is the ideal alternative.

Featuring Jam-Free™ technology which enhances thermal stability and allows the material to melt quickly when reaching the hotend’s heating zone, PolyMax PLA reduces clogging risks. Thus, it helps to prevent print failures and ensures a great printing experience.

Our recommendations for using PolyMax

PolyMax PLA Black is compatible with all open 3D printers on the market in 1.75mm and 2.85mm.

We recommend setting your printer to an extrusion temperature between 190 and 230°C to print this strong PLA under optimal conditions.

A printing speed between 40 and 60mm/s as well as a heated bed between 25 and 60°C are also recommended. A Ziflex-type buildtak is also recommended to ensure good first layer adhesion.

We recommend storing PolyMax in a dry box such as PolyBox with desiccants to protect it from moisture.

How to post-process your 3D parts with PolyMax?

PolyMax can easily be sanded to achieve smooth parts, whether for functional or visual prototypes.
