The eco-friendly PLA filament PolyTerra Cotton White was developed by Polymaker using a technique called "Fully Bio Compound (FBC)", which combines PLA (a biodegradable polymer made from corn starch, beet, and wheat) with organic minerals.
If you're looking for an affordable or eco-friendly PLA filament, or both, PolyTerra™ PLA is definitely your top choice. Additionally, when used as a support material, PolyTerra™ PLA can be easily removed.
PolyTerra filament is suitable for simple prototyping as well as finished decorative or accessory pieces. PolyTerra PLA Cotton White offers a perfect matte white finish.
Excellent value for money: This filament offers very high quality for under €20 per kilogram.
Rigidity: PolyTerra PLA Cotton White filament has greater rigidity than standard PLA.
Eco-responsibility: Manufacturer Polymaker commits to planting one tree for every spool of PolyTerra sold, through the ONETREEPLANTED association.
Recycled spool: The spool and packaging of PolyTerra Cotton White filament are entirely recycled for environmental respect.
Matte finish: Give your prints a unique look with the matte finish of PolyTerra Cotton White.
Food contact compliance: Polymaker PolyTerra complies with RoHS 2011/65/EU, 2015/863 directives, and REACH standards.
PolyTerra Cotton White is compatible with all open 3D printers on the market, whether 1.75mm or 2.85mm.
We recommend setting your printer to an extrusion temperature between 190 and 230°C to print PolyTerra Cotton White under optimal conditions. A printing speed between 30 and 70mm/s, as well as using a heated bed between 25 and 60°C, are also recommended.
If your printer is equipped with a direct drive extrusion system, the recommended retraction distance is 1mm at a speed of 20mm/s. If your printer uses a Bowden extrusion system, the recommended retraction distance is 3mm at a speed of 40mm/s.
Finally, regarding food contact compliance, while PolyTerra Cotton White meets the main standards, some printed parts may have cracks and holes that are invisible to the naked eye. Bacteria generally tend to proliferate in these areas.
