The eco-friendly PLA filament PolyTerra Lava Red was developed by Polymaker using a technique called "Fully Bio Compound (FBC)", which consists of a blend of PLA (biodegradable polymer made from corn starch, beet, and wheat) and organic minerals.
If you are looking for an economical or ecological PLA filament, or both, the PolyTerra™ PLA filament is definitely your first choice. Moreover, if used as a support material, PolyTerra™ PLA can be easily removed.
The PolyTerra filament is used for everything from simple prototyping to finished pieces for decoration or accessories.
Excellent value for money: This filament offers very high quality for under €20 per kilogram.
Stiffness: The PolyTerra PLA Lava Red filament has higher stiffness than standard PLA.
Eco-friendliness: Manufacturer Polymaker commits to planting a tree through the ONETREEPLANTED organization for every PolyTerra spool sold.
Recycled spool: The spool and packaging of the PolyTerra Lava Red filament are fully recycled for environmental responsibility.
Matte finish: Give your prints a unique look with the matte finish of PolyTerra Lava Red.
Food contact compliant: Polymaker PolyTerra complies with RoHS 2011/65/EU, 2015/863 directives and the REACH standard.
PolyTerra Lava Red is compatible with all open 3D printers on the market, both in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm.
We recommend setting your printer to an extrusion temperature between 190 and 230°C for optimal printing conditions with PolyTerra Lava Red. A print speed between 30 and 70 mm/s and using a heated bed between 25 and 60°C are also recommended.
If your printer has a direct drive extrusion system, the recommended retraction distance is 1 mm at a speed of 20 mm/s. If your printer uses a Bowden extrusion system, the recommended retraction distance is 3 mm at a speed of 40 mm/s.
Finally, while PolyTerra Lava Red complies with the main food contact standards, some printed parts may have cracks and holes that are invisible to the naked eye. Bacteria tend to proliferate in these areas.
