The Red ABS filament from the PolyLite series developed by Polymaker is a high-quality ABS filament containing a minimal amount of fine particles (VOCs) to limit harmful emissions.
Ideal for prototypes or functional parts, this ABS has a glass transition temperature of 100°C, meaning it can be used in environments where heat resistance is required.
Easy to handle when following the recommendations (closed chamber, adhesive for bed adhesion, etc.), it delivers precise and reliable prints thanks to Polymaker’s 8-step quality control.
This Red ABS is perfect for producing parts requiring good mechanical strength and for functional prototyping.
Lower toxicity: The PolyLite Red ABS 1kg filament releases fewer odors and VOCs than standard ABS.
Affordable price: This ABS filament offers an excellent price/performance ratio given the technology used.
Excellent print quality: This Polymaker 3D ABS provides outstanding mechanical properties, particularly strength. It is among the most impact-resistant materials, behind PolyMax PC and PolyMide CoPA.
PolyLite Red ABS is compatible with all open 3D printers on the market in both 1.75mm and 2.85mm formats.
3D printing PolyLite Red ABS requires an extrusion temperature between 245 and 265°C, a heated bed between 90 and 105°C, and a print speed of 30 to 50mm/s.
We strongly recommend using a closed and filtered chamber and a professional 3D printer to obtain warp-free parts while ensuring safety.
To achieve smooth surface finishes, there are two options: either manual sanding of the 3D part, or using acetone, which chemically acts on ABS. As acetone handling can be dangerous, another alternative method is using PolySmooth with IPA.
This last method is the one we recommend if you need functional prototypes with a smooth surface finish.
